Through the roof partnerships

Diverse hands joined together in a circle symbolizing unity and teamwork.

Ways To Partner

Through The Roof Partnerships give local businesses, churches, and organizations a meaningful way to step into the story of vulnerable children and the families caring for them. Partners can support the mission in many ways, by sponsoring programs or events, providing financial support, offering services or professional expertise, donating products or supplies, or extending discounts that help foster and kinship families stretch their resources. Some partners choose to host donation drives, volunteer their teams, or help spread awareness in the community. However you choose to partner, your organization becomes part of a powerful network of people committed to strengthening families and ensuring children in our community are surrounded by care, support, and opportunity.

Our "Why" Story

When I was little, I liked to figure things out. One day my favorite calculator broke, and I asked my mom if I could take it apart and try to make it work.

My mom said doubtfully, “Go ahead, but you probably won’t be able to fix it.”

So I opened it up, poked some wires, and then closed it. When I tested it, it was fixed! It was from that day on that I decided, if there’s a problem, there is a solution, and I will find it.

Years later, when our family began fostering, we had a three bedroom home, with two bonus rooms connected to the sides of two of those rooms. Having only two kids’ rooms severely limited the number of children we were able to have. Our two bonus rooms were big enough to use as bedrooms, but without windows, they were just large useless closets.

We began to dream about how we could make more margin, so we spoke with contractors, trying to find how we could make that happen. One room was able to get a wall window installed, and we quickly realized the other would require putting a large window through the roof.

We began to be curious if there was already a program in place that would help with the cost of installation for foster families, but we ran into walls and everyone we called had another number to call.

Finally a roofer friend agreed to work with us and help us make this happen!

One night I was suddenly awoken with a dream about the story in the Bible where Jesus was teaching in a home in Capernaum and some people wanted to get their friend to Him so he could be healed. The house was packed with people and there was no way in…so it seemed.

But then something incredible happened: these friends worked together and found another way! They had to think creatively, they did not give up, and ultimately they came up with the idea to literally tear the roof apart to lower their friend through it, right to the feet of Jesus!

As I began to write my thoughts, it sounded like God was urging me to begin our own non-profit: one that would approach contractors, churches, and businesses in the community, and allow them to creatively increase the margin of foster families who want to be able to reach more children.

Through The Roof Partnerships works to link with businesses, churches, and community members to bless and increase the margin of foster, adoptive, and kinship families, and so creatively work together to make room for children at the feet of Jesus!

Join us as we bless kids and families “through the roof”!
