Mentors are here to walk alongside you, not just as a resource, but as someone who truly gets it. They are trained and experienced foster, adoptive, or kinship parents who understand the unique challenges and emotions that come with caring for children from hard places.
Your mentor can be a steady, trusted support in a lot of ways. They offer encouragement on the hard days, celebrate the wins (big and small), and provide a safe space to talk through challenges without judgment. Whether you need help navigating behaviors, understanding the system, or just someone to listen, they’re in your corner.
They also help connect you to practical resources, things like clothing, beds, respite opportunities, support groups, and community events, so you don’t have to figure it all out on your own. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, your mentor can step in to help problem-solve, advocate, and make sure you feel supported and equipped.
Most importantly, mentors remind you that you’re not alone. They’re there to build relationship, offer guidance from lived experience, and help you stay encouraged in the important work you’re doing.
Whether you have a one-time question, or ongoing support, we are here for you.
